1) Three different types of animals exist: herbivores, omnivores, and carnivores. Herbivores are animals that eat only plants. Carnivores are animals that eat only meat. Omnivores are animals that eat both plants and meat.

2) No, all living beings do not need the same kind of food. Some animals eat plants as food, and they are called herbivores. Some animals feed on other animals, and they are called as Carnivores. Some others eat food from plant sources as well as animals, and such living beings are called omnivores.

3) Yes. Every state of India has its own cuisine. Also, cuisine in Northern India have mainly roti(Indian flatbread)-based food and vegeterianism is more prevalent here. In contrast, Southern India (and some eastern states) is more rice based and being bounded by sea,has more focus on fishes/meats etc as compared to northern India. Furthermore, some dishes are prepared differently in different parts. Eg:- Biryani in Kolkata has potatos in it whereas potatos are not found in Hyderabadi biryani, Lucknow Biryani and other biryani preparations across the country.

4)

(a)An ingredient is a substance that forms part of a mixture (in a general sense). For example, in cooking, recipes specify which ingredients are used to prepare a specific dish.

(b) A herbivore is an animal anatomically and physiologically adapted to eating plant material, for example foliage or marine algae, for the main component of its diet.

(c) A carnivore is an organism that mostly eats meat, or the flesh of animals. Sometimes carnivores are called predators. Organisms that carnivores hunt are called prey. Carnivores are a major part of the food web, a description of which organisms eat which other organisms in the wild.

(d) An omnivore is an animal that has the ability to eat and survive on both plant and animal matter. Obtaining energy and nutrients from plant and animal matter, omnivores digest carbohydrates, protein, fat, and fiber, and metabolize the nutrients and energy of the sources absorbed.
