Q. 3. The area of a rectangle is 150 m². If its length is 15 m, find its breadth and perimeter.

  • Area the rectangle is 150m² .
  • Length is the 15m.

The length and the perimeter of the rectangle.

We know that,

 \bold  \gray\dag{ \underline{ \boxed{ \bf{ \blue{area \: of \: the \: rectangle = l \times b}}}}} \bold  \gray\dag

Where,

l (length) = 15m.

b (breadth) = x metre [assuming]

And, Area = 150m²

Procedure :

Substituting the given values as follows :

<strong> </strong>\sf \longmapsto area \: of \: the  \:rectangle = l \times b \\

\sf \longmapsto  {150m}^{2}  = 15 \times x \\

 \sf \longmapsto  \frac{ \cancel{150}}{ \cancel{15}}  = x\\

{ \pink{ \sf { \red{\longmapsto}}}}{ \sf{ \pink{ x = 10m}}}

After solving the sum we get :

Breadth = x = 10m

Now,

Again it is told to find the perimeter of the rectangle

Again,

We know that,

 \bold \gray \dag{ \underline{ \boxed{ \bf{ \blue{ Perimeter \: of \:a  \: rectangle = 2(l + b)}}}}} \bold \gray \dag

Where,

l (length) = 15m.

b (breadth) = 10m.

Proceeding by substitutions of the given values as follows :

\sf \longmapsto Perimeter \: of \:a  \: rectangle = 2(l + b) \\

\sf \longmapsto Perimeter \: of \:a  \: rectangle = 2(15 + 10)\\

\sf \longmapsto Perimeter \: of \:a  \: rectangle = 2(25)\\

 \bf \longmapsto Perimeter \: of \:a  \: rectangle = { \underline{50 \: metres}}
