*According to 9th class NCERT book*

There are four types of Epithelial Tissues-

1) Simple Squamous Epithelium - It is simple flat and very thin kind of Epithelial Tissue which is named as simple squamous epithelium. It is found in the lining of the mouth, lung alveoli etc.

2) Stratified Squamous Epithelium - The skin which protects the animal body is also made up of squamous epithelium. The skin epithelium cell is arranged in many layers to avoid wear and tears and so called stratified squamous epithelium.

3) Cuboidal Epithelium - It is cuboidal in shape and forms the lining of kidney tubules and the ducts of salivaiy gland.

4) Columnar Epithelium - Where absorption and secretion occurs, as in the inner lining of intestine, tall epithelium cells are present there named as columnar epithelium.
