G. HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) Questions:
1. Why is there a gap left between the rails in railway track?
2. What is the difference between the following changes?
(a) Rolling of chapati from dough
(b) Baking of chapati
Answers
Answer:
1) The gaps left between successive rails on a railway track, the reason is that the rails expand in summer. The gap is provided to allow for this expansion. If no gap is left, the expansion in summer will cause the rails to bend sideways. That will result in train accidents.
2) rolling of chapatti and baking of chapati. if we roll out chapthi then we can reverse it into dough so it is called reversable change but if we bake it then we cannot make dough again so it is also called as irreversable change. rolling of chapati is can be repeated but baking of chapati is cannot be repeated .
