Answers
Answer:
1) Silk is a natural protein fiber, some forms of which can be woven into textiles. The protein fiber of silk is composed mainly of fibroin and is produced by certain insect larvae to form cocoons.[1] The best-known silk is obtained from the cocoons of the larvae of the mulberry silkworm Bombyx mori reared in captivity (sericulture). The shimmering appearance of silk is due to the triangular prism-like structure of the silk fibre, which allows silk cloth to refract incoming light at different angles, thus producing different colors.
2) A cocoon is a covering made by silk moths and other insects as a part of their life cycle to protect the pupa. Cocoon made by silk moth can be used for the production of silk fibres by killing the insect inside the cocoon using boiling water.
3) The different processes involved in wool production are shearing, scouring, grading, dyeing, and drying. The process of removal of the fleece from an animal is called shearing. Sheep are usually shorn annually in the spring/summer months. Shearing is done with a manual razor and blade, or with special clippers
4) 1.The most common usage is making winter clothes because this fibre is warm and thick enough to resist cold.
2.For making carpets.
3.For making blankets.
4.Wool is also used for making upholstery.
5.This fibre is also used for making different kind of insulation.
5)Silk Wool
Silk has a shiny, shimmery appearance.
Silk is not as good as wool in retaining warmth.
Silk is often used for formal dresses
Wool
. Wool doesn't have a shine.
. Wool has good insulating properties..
. Wool is specially used for winter clothing.
6) Sericulture is not very popular with people working for animal protection because sericulture involves killing of larvae for obtaining silk . This is cruelty against insects.
