side of square (Diameter of 1 circle)=a

diagonal of square, by formula ( diameter of big circle)= √2a

Area of big circle/ Area of small circle = π(√2a/2)^2/π(a/2)^2

=π2a^2/4 / π a^2/4

=2/1

= 2:1
