An air hockey table, which reduces friction by suspending the puck on a cushion of air, so that it’s motion is much less altered by friction, causing it to glide in a straight line at relatively constant velocity across the table.

The classic trick of quickly pulling a smooth tablecloth from beneath a dining table place setting (plates, glasses, silverware, etc.) while causing little shift in the settings upon the table.

Seat belts, as mentioned in another response (installed so as to prevent injuries that would otherwise take place in a vehicle collision due to Newton’s first law of motion).
