I've never understood the words profit and loss... maybe because I've never been able to view them as two separate words. You can't simply make columns, put one set of items on one side, another set on the other side, and decide if they tally or not.
Because the truth of the matter is, that life, as business, seldom adds up. We can't square off one thing with another and try to get meaning from it. In the case of business, you may have not broken even, you may not be showing a great turnover year on year, but you are still touching plenty of lives in the meanwhile
I believe the grandness of what we create, far outweighs the numbers. Be it the creative process or building a business, the ultimate satisfaction is rarely from the final product, the real deal is in its experience... in knowing you're contributing, you're creating value and that you're transforming the lives of those around you.
