Answer:

Throughout India’s history, their holy Ganga River has been polluted, endangering the health of all of those who live and bathe in it. Many types of cancer are common along the Ganga River from the eastern side of Uttar Pradesh, through Bengal and Bihar, and people in these areas are more prone to developing cancer than anywhere else in the country. For every 10,000 people surveyed living along the river in these regions, an average of 450 men and 1,000 women had gallbladder cancer. These deadly long-term diseases are proof that more laws need to be put in place to prevent more carcinogens from polluting the holy river.
