Gandhi was nominated for the Nobel Peace prize _five_ times but never won. The Nobel committee regrets not giving him the prize to this day.

The Nobel Prize Committee has confirmed that Mahatma Gandhi was nominated in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947, and, even finally, a few days before his assassination in January 1948.

Hope it helps!!

Gandhi was nominated for the Nobel Peace prize FIVE times but never won.

The Nobel committee regrets not giving him the prize to this day

Explanation:

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi) is also known as “Father of the nation”. He never got the "Nobel Peace Prize". But he was nominated for the same five times. Gandhiji was a national leader who was a symbol of non-violence when he was fighting for India's independence against British. He was very different from other laureates of Nobel Peace Prize who were either Europeans or Americans.

Though after his death in 1948, Nobel Committee did not reward any person with the Nobel Peace prize, claiming there was no person alive that year to be awarded.
