Answer:

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who is famously known as Bapuji, is called as the father of the nation. He is said to be the father of the nation. This personality was born on 2nd October 1869 at Porbandar of present Kathaiwar of Gujarat. He is one such person who found out a strategy of non- violence to drive out the englishmen from India.

Basically, every individual in India was enraged after the Sepoy mutiny, so termed by the English men. They started rebellions against the Britishers for the same. But, Gandhiji decided to use non-violence as the weapon to get independence. He termed it as Ahimsa. He did no harm to th Britishers; no killing, no bloodshed, no cheating. He was fair and just. He started marching all over against them.

This method of Gandhiji attracted many people of India. They started following Gandhiji's ideals and ideas. This can be observed in the instance of Dandi march too. His Salt Satyagraha is the most notable one. He used non-violence, truth and passive resistance to drive out British. Gradually, he gained the support of more and more people, and hence, became instrumental in making India an independent nation on the midnight of August 14, 1947. Although he passed away in 1948 by assassination, he still remains alive in the hearts of the patriots. His method of protest and his simplicity made this possible.
