I am very sorry to tell Gandhiji held conservative views on women. He followed Manu's concept, that was not at all charitable towards women folk. Women should be treated at par with women. But, Gandhiji felt that women should be confined to their household chores, spend  time looking after their families and  read  religious books. No female chauvinist will support his views on women. In fact the same yard stick should apply to mean. Why that discrimination towards women. Raja Ram Mohan Roy held better views on women.
