ANSWER:
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or mahatma Gandhi was one of the many stalwarts because of whom we achieved our independence, mahatma Gandhi was a very strong advocate of swadeshi goods or the goods that were made in India mahatma wasn’t opposing to the western culture but these were his ways of promoting the tradition and culture of India.
Gandhiji did that only to cause problems to the britishers doing business in India and this helped us achieve our independence.
Answer:
Yes I agree with this statement because his complaint against western materialism is that it destroys the very essence of spiritualism. And he regarded the western type of man as a atomic individual, with all flesh and no soul.
As against the state that existed in the West, Gandhiji advocated what he called, the Ramrajya; as against the western style of managing things through the centralising forces, he stood for a decentralised polity. As against materialism, industrialization and capitalism, he made a strong plea for Swadeshi, cottage industries and the theory of Trusteeship.
