Ganesh a juice seller has his juice shop near Kutub Minar in Delhi. He has three types of glasses, Type A - A glass with a plane bottom, Type B - A glass with a hemispherical raised bottom, and Type C - A glass with the conical raised bottom of height 1.5 cm. The inner diameter of all types of glass is the same as 5cm to serve the customer. The height of the glasses is 10cm (use pi = 3.14)

Given : three types of glasses

Type A - A glass with a plane bottom,

Type B - A glass with a hemispherical raised bottom

Type C - A glass with the conical raised bottom of height 1.5 cm.

The inner diameter of all types of glass is the same as 5cm

The height of the glasses is 10cm

pi = 3.14

To Find : The volume of the glass of type A:

The volume of the hemisphere in the glass of type B

The volume of a glass of type B

The volume of the cone in the glass of type C

The volume of a glass of type C

Solution:

Volume of cylinder = πr²h

Volume of hemisphere = (2/3)πr³

Volume of hemisphere = (1/3)πr²h

r = Diameter/2 = 5/2  cm

h = 10 cm

π = 3.14

Type A glass Volume

= 3.14(5/2)²10

= 196.25 cm³

Volume of hemisphere = (2/3)(3.14)(5/2)³

= 32.71 cm³

Type B  glass volume

= Type A glass Volume - Volume of hemisphere

=  196.25 -  32.71

=  163.54 cm³

h = 1.5 cm for come

volume of the cone = (1/3)(3.14)(5/2)² * 1.5

= 9.81  cm³

Type B  glass volume

= Type A glass Volume - volume of the cone

=  196.25 -  9.81

=   186.44 cm³
