Ganesh had a certain number of toffees with him. He distributed these toffees among his sisters Gita, Rita and Sita. To Gita he gave half of total number of toffees and 7 more. To Rita, he gave one third of the remaining toffees and 6 more. To Sita, he gave one fourth of the remaining toffees and 5 more. He was then left with 19 toffees. Find the initial number of toffees with ganesh

let the no. of toffees be x

gita= x/(2+7)=(x+14)/2

remaining toffees =x-(x+14)/2= (2x-x-14)/2=(x-14)/2

rita= (x-14)/2*1/3+6= (x-14)/6+6=((x-14)+36)/6=(x+22)/6

remaining toffees = (x-14)/2-(x+22)/6=(3x-52-x+22)/6=(2x-30)/6

sita= ((2x-30)/6)*1/4+5= ((2x-30)/24)+5= (2x+90)/24

remaining toffees =(2x-30)/6-(2x+90)/24=(6x-30)/24

ATP,

(6x-30)/24=19

6x-30=456

6x=486

x=81
