Usha the grand daughter-in-law of Lord Krishna is credited to have popularised Lasya Nritya.

Lasya Nitra was performed by Goddess Parvati . Parvati wife of Lord Shiva taught it to Usha who was the daughter of Sage Banasura after that she passed this art to other women.

1. The term Lasya expresses happiness and is also filled with grace and beauty.

2. Lasya is an element which is::

(c) expresses emotions on a gentle level.
