1. Cost of cementing is only associated with road not with the garden so this requires to find the area of the road. The area of the road is nothing but the shaded portion in the figure. To find shaded area, we can do that by the following method

Shaded area= (Larger rectangle area)-(smaller rectangle area)

=(258*208)-(250*200)            [area of rectangle is given by length*breadth]

=53,664-50,000

=3,664 sq. metres

2. We have found the area now we need to find the cementing cost. To find this we have an information in the question, cost per sq. metre is Rs. 9.5 per sq.metre

Overall cost=(shaded area)*(cost per sq.metre)

=3,664*9.5
