Garden is 120 M long and 85 M wide. It has an inside path of uniform width 3.5 M all around it. The remaining part of the garden is covered by grass. Find the cost of covering the garden by grass at 50 paise per square metre.

new length of grass covered portion= 120-3.5-3.5=113m
Breadth= 85-3.5-3.5=78m
now area of the grass covered portion = l×b
=113×78=8814m^2
cost of 1m^2 = 50 paise
=Rs 0.5
so cost of 8814m^2= 0.5× 8814
=Rs 4407
