If 12 plants were Extras out of 6096 plants, there number of plants in the square is:

6096 - 12 \\  = 6084

We Know that

Ar(□) =  {Side}^{2}  \\ 6084 \: sq. \: units=  {Side}^{2}  \\  \sqrt{6084} = Side \\ 78 = No. \: of \: plants \: in \: each \: row.
