Answer:

Calorific value is defined as the amount of heat energy produced on complete combustion of 1 kilogram of fuel. It is expressed in a unit called kilojoule per kg. The higher the calorific value of a fuel, the more is its efficiency.

The calorific value of gaseous fuels is more than solid and liquid fuels. When a gaseous fuel burns, it gives off a great deal of energy. Unlike other solid and liquid fuels it does not leaves any ash.

Gaseous fuels produce very little air pollution. Due to the above reasons, gaseous fuel is always better than solid and liquid fuels.

Gaseous fuels are better than solid and liquid fuels because they don't cause much air pollution, don't leave any solid residue on burning, don't emit poisonous gas and can be used directly.

⭐ADDITIONAL INFORMATION⭐

___________________________

A fuel is a combustible substance that is burnt in order to obtain heat and light.

Solid fuels include coal, coke, wood, charcoal, etc. Coal is a fuel which is used in industries and homes. One big disadvantage of using coal is that it leaves solid residue after burning and causes air pollution by releasing carbon dioxide gas.

Coal is mainly carbon.

C +  O_{2} =  CO_{2}

Liquid fuels include petroleum, petrol, diesel, kerosene, etc. Liquid fuels have a lower ignition temperature, and are very costly.

Gaseous fuels include LPG, CNG and natural gas. They are excellent fuels because they don't leave any solid residue after burning, don't cause air pollution and can be transported through a network of pipes. Moreover, the calorific value of gaseous fuels is much more than solid or liquid fuels.
