Gases are highly compressible whereas solids are incompressible . Why ?

This is because gases have higher intermolecular space while solid have no intermolecular space .

Gases are highly compressible because the atoms in it are loosely bounded while on the other side in solids, atoms are tightly bounded so it is very difficult to compress it...
