Answer:- When gases dissolves in water to give the acidic solution.

For example:- when carbon dioxide gas dissolves in water to form carbonic acid.

Let's do this experiment:

-----------------------------------------

Aim:- To prove that gases dissolve in water to give acidic solution.

Material Required:- Gas jar, Carbon rod, Burner, beaker and holder.

Theory:-

CO2(g) + H2O(l) ----------> H2CO3(aq)

Procedure:-

1. Take a carbon rod and burn it with the help of burner.

2. Immediately, the released gas conserve in gas jar with the help of delivery tube.

3. With the help of delivery tube, dissolve the conserved CO2 gas in water.

4. Now now take a blue Litmus Paper and put it into the solution.

Observation:- The blue Litmus turns into red in colour.

Result:- It is acidic solution.
