Particles are far apart from each other because there are very weak forces of attraction between them. Because of this, gases don't have a definite shape or volume and fill any container. Because there is lots of free space between particles, gases can easily be compressed.

Solid and liquid have volume because their shape won't change easily.

Particles are far away due to week force of attractions.

Because of this , gas don't have definite shape or volume.

It can easily fill in containers.

Compared to solid and liquid, gas can compress easily.
