The particles are constantly moving in all directions with different speed as the result the particles of gas colloid with each other and also against walls of the container. so the result of these collision the gas exert some force although wall of the container.
this force per area is called pressure of the gas.

In the gaseous state ,the particles move about ramdomly at a very high and a great speed Due to this ramdom movement the particles hit each other and also the walls of container . The pressure exerted by gas is equal to the force exerted by gas particles per unit area on the walls of container .
