Gases generally have lower density as compared to solids. Why?

Gase molecules occupy larger volume as compared to solids as gas molecules are loosely packed. we know density of a substance is mass/volume. so if volume occupied is more density is lower and vice versa.therefore gases have lower density than solids

because the formula of density is mass /volumn so ,the solid state is more occupy mass and a fixed volumn like (pen ,table ) and gases is less mass or not define volumn like( co2 ,oxygen )
