TO DETERMINE

The amount of rebate and the percentage of rebate.

EVALUATION

Here it is given that, Gaurav purchased two bed sheets for Rs.350 each and 6 handkerchiefs for Rs.25 each

∴ Price of 2 bed sheets

= Rs ( 2 × 350 )

= Rs 700

∴ Price of 6 handkerchiefs

= Rs ( 6 × 25 )

= Rs 150

∴ Total price of two bed sheets and 6 handkerchiefs

= Rs ( 700 + 150)

= Rs 850

Now Gaurav paid Rs 748

∴ Total Rebate

= Rs ( 850 - 748 )

= Rs 102

∴ Percentage of rebate

$\displaystyle \sf{ = \frac{102}{850} \times 100 \: \% }$

$\displaystyle \sf{ =12 \: \% }$
