Given:

The length of the park is twice its breadth.

The total distance covered by Gaurav is 900m.

Find:

The length and breadth of the park

Solution:

Let the length of the park be 'l' m.

Let the breadth of the park be 'b' m

We have,

The length of the park is twice its breadth.

=> l = 2b .......(i).

Gaurav takes 15 rounds of a rectangular park and the total distance covered by Gaurav is 900 m

=> 900/15

=> 60m

It means Gaurav cover 60 m distance in one round.

We know that,

The perimeter of the rectangular park => 2(l + b)

=> 60 = 2(l + b)

=> 60 = 2(2b + b) (From equation 1)

=> 60 = 2(3b)

=> 60 = 6b

=> 60/6 = b

=> 10 = b

=> b = 10m

Putting the value of 'b' in equation (i).

=> l = 2b

=> l = 2 × 10

=> l = 20m

Hence, the length and breadth of the rectangular park is 20m and 10m.

I hope it will help you.

Regards.
