Answer:

y=1 & x=1

Step-by-step explanation:

multiple x+y=2 by 2

2x+2y=4(i)

2x+3y=5(ii)

change the sign

2x+2y=4(i)

-2x-3y=-5(ii)

solve it and you will get

x=1 & y= 1

( x+y) = 2     ..              (1)

( 2x + 3y) = 5  ..           (2)

Let,s multiply equation (1) by 2

[( x+y) =2 ] ×2

2x + 2y = 4    ..   (3)

now we will subtract equation (3) from equation (2)

2x + 3y = 5

2x + 2y = 4

-     -        -

-------------------

y =1

now we put the value of y in equation (1)

( x+y) = 2

x +1 = 2

x = 2-1=1

Hence x= 1

and y = 1

Ans :- x = 1, y =1
