His father’s name was Suddhdhana and his mother name was Maya Devi thus Gautam Buddha belongs to Kshatriya Verna Janapada in Lumbini.
But later they were known with the name of the Buddha as they took the name of Buddha by adopting Buddhism culture. He himself found Buddhism.
