Geeta kumari Phogat, age 28 (15 Dec 1988) was an Indian 55kgs freestyle wrestler who won the first ever gold medal for India in 2010 commonwealth games and first woman wrestler to qualified for summer Olympic games which held in 2012. Geeta Phogat is the first women wrestler of India who got qualified for the Olympic Summer Games. She is a freestyle wrestler. She is the first wrestler who has won the gold medal in wrestling in the Commonwealth Games in 2010.
She was born on the 15h of December 1988. She belongs to the Jat family of Balali village in Charkhi district in Haryana. Mahavir Singh Phogat is her father who was a former wrestler and a coach. She has three sisters, Babita, Ritu and Sangita who are also a wrestler. Babita Kumari had won gold medals in Commonwealth games. Ritu had also won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship in 2016.
