Geeta was making tea in a kettle. She felt intense heat from the puff of steam coming out from the spout of the kettle. She wondered whether the temperature of steam was higher than of water boiling in the kettle.

Steam contains the latent heat of vaporization [the heat which the boiling water absorb to get converted to vapour (steam) at the boiling point of water.Therefore, temperature of steam is same as that of boiling water.
