Gene Therapy :

It is used to replace faulty gene by normal one therefore can be used to treat genetic disorder .

• Gene therapy was first of all used to treat a 4 year old girl in 1990 in USA from a genetic disorder called SCID .

• The lymphocytes were recovered from the patient , cultured and normal genes were introduced using retrovirus vector .
