Generally, in dicot plants, stomata are found on the lower surface of leaves.

Answer: Option (a)

Explanation:

Dicot plants have two cotyledons in their seed. These plants are better developed. Dicot plants have stomata on the lower surface. Stomata are used in the exchange of gases and also for transpiration to cool the plant in hot weather.

But monocots are actually small in size and have stomata on either surface of plants. Dicot stomata are larger and less numerous as compared to the stomata in monocots. Hence the surface variation in stomata is there.
