generally when metals are treated with acids ,hydrogen is liberated but with minerals except magnese and magnesium ,with HNO3, hydrogen gas is not liberated why

The reason is because HNO3 or Nitric Acid is a strong oxidising agent.

When it reacts with a metal it forms water and instead of forming a salt it oxidises and forms a nitrogen compound . And this is the main reason.
