Generally, when metals are treated with mineral acids, hydrogen gas is liberated but when metals ( except M and Mg), are treated with HNO3, hydrogen gas is not liberated, Why?​

Answer:

When metals are treated with HNO3 hydrogen gas is not liberated because HNO3 is a strong oxidizing agent.It oxidizes the H2 produced to water and itself get reduced to N2O.
