Generation of current in a coil due to relative motion between the coil and the magnet is an electromagnetic induction is true.
Michael Faraday discovered Law of Induction in 1830.
The reason for this to be true is :
1. This is one of the examples of electromagnetic induction.
2. When there is relative motion between coil and magnet there is change in magnetic flux which induces electromotive force .
3. If any load is connected to the coil completing the circuit, current will flow through it due to generation of emf.
4. It is called induction because it creates electromotive force without any contact of object.
