genes GSHL are located on same chromosome. The recombination percentage is between L and G is 15%,H and S is 20% ,S and L is 50%. The correct order of genes is a)GHSL b)SHGL c)SGHL d)HSLG .... pls help....

More the percentage of recombination, farther away the genes will be from each other.

So there is greater percentage of S and L
After it H and S
And in last L and G

SHGL is correct

But I'm not sure.

The order of genes on the chromosome will be SHGL.

Explanation:

As we know, the percentage of recombination is directly proportional to the distance between genes. So,

  • Genes with lower recombination percentage are closer to each other.
  • Genes with higher recombination percentage are located farther from each other.

Here,

  • L and G are nearest because recombination percentage is only 15%.
  • S and L are farthest because of recombination percentage 50%.
  • H and S are also located near to each other because of recombination percentage 20%.

Based on these estimations, the sequence of genes on the chromosome will be - SHGL
