The enzyme responsible is RNA polymerase. Translation requires an mRNA molecule a supply of charged tRNAs tRNA molecules with their associated amino acids and ribosomes composed of rRNA and ribosomal proteins. The ribosomes are the sites where protein synthesis occurs.
