Answer:

draw a line AB of length 7 cm.

mark point C which devides AB in to 4cm,3cm.

draw a semi circle by taking AB as radius.

now draw a perpendicular from POINT C to semicircle.

the length of new obtained line is equal to √7.

take it on a compass and mark it on left side of origin (0,0), now you get -√7

Steps of Construction:

  • Draw a line of 2 cm,named it as OA
  • At A draw a perpendicular line of 1 cm,let this line is AC.
  • Join OC, length of OC =√5 cm
  • Take OC as base line ,and draw a perpendicular of 1 cm at C,let this is CD.
  • join O and D ,length of OD =√6 cm
  • Take OD as base and draw a perpendicular of 1 cm at D,let this is DE.
  • Join O to E,the length of OE = √7 cm
  • Put the compass on O,measure till point E and draw an arc to join E to number line at E'.
  • Where the point meet is the distance of √7 from OE'.

Hope it helps you.( ◜‿◝ )♡
