Given Equation is f(x) =  8x^4 - 8x^3 - 18x^2 - px - q.

Given g(x) = 4x^2 - 4x + 1

                           2x^2 - 5
                      ---------------------------------------
4x^2 - 4x + 1) 8x^4 - 8x^3 - 18x^2 - px - q

                      8x^4 - 8x^3 + 2x^2

                      ----------------------------------------

                                              -20x^2 - px - q

                                             -20x^2 - 20x - 5

                      --------------------------------------------

                                                       (-p - 20)x + (5 - q)

Remainder = (- p - 20)x + (5 - q)

= > (-p - 20) = 0

= > -p = 20

= > p = -20.

= > 5 - q = 0

= > q = 5

Therefore, the values of p = -20 and q = 5.

Hope this helps!

siddhartharao77: Ask!
anjali39945: (-p-20)x - (5 from where 5 came
siddhartharao77: -20x^2 - 20x - 5 ( From here I took 5)
