how is water added into the atmosphere? what are the the chief source of moisture in the air

When the heat of the sun evaporates water from water bodies like ponds, lakes ,rivers,seas and oceans, the water vapour being lighter rises up into the atmosphere. Now we know that the upper layers of the atmosphere is cooler than the lower layers. Therefore the water vapour condeses into water droplets to form clouds and when they become heavy the precipitate in the form of rain, sleet hail and snow.

Moisture in the atmosphere also contains the suspended particulate matter (SPM) or pollutants in the atmosphere. This forms fog mist and so on.
