Answer :

The given line is

y = - \frac{7}{4} x - 2 ...(i)

Any line parallel to (i) no. line be

y = - \frac{7}{4} x + k ...(ii),

where k is any constant

By the given condition, (ii) no. line passes through the point (4, - 2), then

- 2 = - \frac{7}{4} ( 4 ) + k

⇒ - 2 = - 7 + k

⇒ k = - 2 + 7

⇒ k = 5

Therefore, the required parallel line be

y = - \frac{7}{4} x + 5

So, option (A) is correct.
