Verb Konjukation

German verbs have different conjugations for different pronouns.

The word wohne means to live in some place OR to reside somewhere. The various verb conjugations are as follows:

\begin{tabular}{||c|c||}\cline{1-2}\sf ich &\sf wohne\\\cline{1-2}\sf du &\sf wohnst \\\cline{1-2}\sf er/es/sie &\sf wohnt \\\cline{1-2}\sf wir &\sf wohnen \\\cline{1-2}\sf ihr &\sf wohnt \\\cline{1-2}\sf Sie/sie &\sf wohnen\\ \cline{1-2}\end{tabular}

Considering these conjugations, we get the answer very easily.

Here, Peter and ihre Schwester both are being talked about in third person.

So the conjugation for er/es/sie [third person] applies.

Hence, we use wohnt.

[As: Peter (er) wohnt in Wien, aber ihre Schwester (sie) wohnt in Vienna]

So we have:

Peter wohnt in Wien, aber ihre Schwester wohnt in Salzburg.

The translation is:

Peter lives in Vienna, but his sister lives in Salzburg.

[Vienna and Salzburg are both cities in the European Country Austria]
