German scientists were concerned about the Nazi restrictions on Uranium sales because Uranium could be used in research on atomic bomb. Germany had a secret club by the name Uranverein or Uranium Club, started in 1939, after their discovery of fission. This was a nuclear project. When the US became aware of it, they were in a race to produce an atomic bomb first, knowing fully well that the one who made this first would win the war.

German scientists were not too happy with the Nazis restrictions on Uranium because it was hampering their growth in the race to win the world war.
Nazis were also not that serious in pursuing their aims of producing an Atom bomb. The scientists were also concerned with America’s interest in making the bomb first because they knew very well that one who makes the bomb first will win the war.
