getting a job in factories was difficult in the 19th century because in the case of England the government easily gave the jobs to the people of their country but in the case of India they paid low wages and exploited the Indian people.
Thus we can say that getting a job in factories was always difficult for the Indian people and not for the British people.
Thank you

There was always an abundance of labor available in the market to meet the industrial needs largely due to increased migration of people from the countryside to the cities in England or from villages to the urban areas in India.

However in both the cases the possibility of getting a job depended on the following factors;

a. In England, many industries the demand for labor was seasonal, where the people were employed during peak seasons like breweries and gas works employed people on a large scale during winters, and then fired them.

b. Jobs in industries also depended on the network or friendship or kinship.

c. In India, a similar situation prevailed, since the supply of labor was more than its demand, Industrialists appointed a jobber who would get people from his village, ensured them jobs and in return demanded money and gifts from them. A jobber exercised a considerable amount of power and authority.
