Answer:

3 pints.

Step-by-step explanation:

Ghalib fills 1/3 of the container with orange soda and the rest with 4 cups.

So the total amount of soda ( x ):

x * 2/3 = 4

x = 4 : 2/3  = 4 * 3/2  = 6 cups

We know that 1 cup = 0.5 pints

6 * 0.5 = 3 pints.

Answer:

Ghalib made 3 pints of his special soda drink

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Ghalib fills 1/3 of the container with orange soda

So ,

The part remaining in container = ( 1 - 1 / 3 ) = 2/3

Therefore,

He fills 2/3 of the container with lemon-lime soda

Also given,

Lemon-lime soda= 4 cups

Let Orange soda= x cups

Hence,

We can form the ratio as  :

Amount of container filled with orange soda : Amount of container filled with lemon - lime soda to Cups of orange soda : Cups of lemon - lime soda

1 / 3  :  2 / 3 = x : 4

\frac{1/3}{2/3} = \frac{x}{4}

\frac{1}{3} * \frac{3}{2} = \frac{x}{4}

\frac{1}{2} =  \frac{x}{4}

2x = 4

Dividing both sides by 2,

2x / 2 = 4 / 2

x = 2

Hence, orange soda = 2 cups

So Now,

special soda drink = 2 cups of orange soda + 4 cups of lemon - limesoda = 6 cups

We know,

1 cup = 0.5 pint

so, 6 cups = ( 6 × 0.5 ) = 3 pints

Hence,

Ghalib made 3 pints of his special soda drink
