Early life. Ghaseti Begum married her cousin, Nawazish Muhammad Khan Shahmat Jang, the Naib-Nazim of Dhaka. Being childless, the couple adopted Ikram ud-Daulah, the younger brother of Siraj ud-Daulah. But Ikram ud-Daulah died of smallpox at a young age.
