- Every morning Emperor Akbar held a darbar at his palace. He had a habit of questioning his ministers. One day he gathered them and asked them how many crows are in Agra. All of the ministers were perplexed since no one knew the exact number. However, when Birbal entered, Akbar asked the same question. He answered ten lakhs six thousand six hundred and fifty.
- To further test him, Akbar said if there were more crows. Birbal replied then all of them would be visiting us from neighbouring Kingdoms.
- Akbar was pleased with his answer and rewarded Birbal.
