HEY!!

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER   :-

Female Foeticide is the act of aborting a foetus because it is a female. In India, this practice is rampant with close to a million girls are killed annually.  This further leads to many other serious problems like widening of male-female sex ratio.

According to the data available with UNICEF, the sex ratio in India in 1991 was 947 girls per 1000 boys. Ten years later, the sex ratio fell to 927 girls per 1000 boys. Further, 80% of the Indian districts have recorded a fall in the sex ratio with Punjab being the worst.

Sex Determination, Sex specific abortion and unethical professionalism is today a Rs 1000 crore (US 244 Million) industry.

I believe such practices happen more in rural areas as people there have lack of awareness and don't know the importance of a girl child. Further, in India, people consider a girl child as a liability and burden as marrying off a girl child is a costly affair in terms of offering DOWRY.

MARK AS BRAINLIST IF HLPED ^_^
