- Newton’s first law of motion states that:- “An object tends to keep it's state of rest or motion until any external unbalanced force is exerted on it.”
*It is also known as the ‘Law of Inertia’ because it explains inertia. The credit of it's discovery goes to Galelio Gallilei and Newton.
Applications:-
- When we are inside a moving vehicle and when it suddenly changes it's direction, we tend to go in the initial direction we were following. This is due to inertia of direction.
- When a moving vehicle accelerates from rest, we fall backwards due to inertia of motion.
